Java and Adobe/flashpalayer updates kill my comp

hi,

Everytime i update Java or Adobe, my computer will run fine until i switch off. When i turn it all on, the tower does not turn on properly, the monitor switch flashes on/off and a blank screen.

 

After turning on/off several times, it will finally kick in but goes to self repair, i get a message saying the issue is with downloaded software. It then restores to a previous point. This has only started happening the last couple months. It did it again

this morning after i downloaded Java update 21. It has unstalled it and i dont have Java running at the moment.

please no techy language... i come from a world of thingy's and whatsits with some doodads thrown in. Very simple explanations needed. Thankyou for your time.
