FPCH Admin AWS Posted April 26, 2013 FPCH Admin Posted April 26, 2013 Hi I currently have Windows 8 Pro installed and at the moment my current Antivirus program is the version for telecom user of New Zealand of "Mcafee." At the moment when running a full scan this has lead at to show 0% complete done after 2 hours. I have tried to uninstall Mcafee and do a "Clean Installation" of Mcafee but while uninstalling it it encountered a problem and couldn't continue. This resulted in me still having Mcafee installed which resulted in me not being able to launch Windows Defender as another Antivirus program was installed. Is there a possible way to launch Windows Defender by bypassing this issue appearing? Letting my open and Scan for Malware while another antivirus scanner was installed. I currently have a hunch that a latest update has resulted in this for mcafee but as of now (4 days since update released) I haven't been able to run the scheduled scan every monthly. The last time I ran a scheduled scan was on the 8 March (not really a month ago but still!) but have recently (after the update) downloaded a few items from some websites and have been unable to scan them for viruses!
