FPCH Admin AWS Posted April 26, 2013 FPCH Admin Posted April 26, 2013 Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit, up-to-date service - Received Updates Available notification form Windows Update and had one important update listed :KB2840149 - Install failed with err 802000e - research revealed information that KB2823324 should be removed, if installed - It was installed, so removed it via Control Panel and rebooted, checked - gone - Install for KB2840149 still fails, same error - Attempted manual download and install (a method that has gotten around Windows Update errors in past) - This method results in msg that "...not applicable to your computer" (or words very similar) - Meanwhile Windows Update continues to insist that an important update is available to install (KB2840149) - Tried the "let us fix it for you" which claimed to have done so - Retried both of the above install methods for KB2840149 - same results in each method (WinUpdt/manual) - Have hidden the update in Windows Update to avoid this continuous and annoying cycle Would like to know what's going on here and how to fix it please...
