Windows Update keeps wanting to install KB2813170

For the past week Windows Update keeps repeatedly requesting to install KB2813170 after supposedly installing it.

It will prompt me to install...I will install it...then it claims to have installed (in the log), and then asks me to install it...I will install it...then it claims to have installed...and on, and on, and on.

Also, for some reason when I go into "Installed Updates", none are listed.

But I know a couple weeks ago everything was listed, as I've been in the process of slowly re-installing everything on my laptop over the past month.

Which is just Windows Vista and Office 2010. I’ve no problmes with any updates until KB2813170.

 

I've tried running the Microsoft Fix-it app for Windows Update.

That also keeps looping. It tells me there is a problem...I tell it to fix the problem...It tells me it’s fixed.

But if I run it again, it just repeats.

I've also tried restoring my system to a previous restore point, and that makes no difference. I've also tried manually downloading

KB2813170 and installing it but that makes no difference either. That also keeps looping.
