uninstall java in safe mode

When I tried to uninstall Java in Windows (Vista) safe mode the following error message appears: &quot The windows installer service could not be accessed. this ca occuer if the windows installer is not correctly installed. contact your support personnel for

assistance&quot. I have uninstalled programmes before. why this message now?
