I am running Windows vista home premium.........have a Dell Inspiron 531 with a 2.30 gig AMD athlon 64x2 dual core processor. The motherboard is limited to 4 gigs of ram. When cleaning my computer, I installed 2 extra gigs of ram, (went from 2 to 4).

It picked up the ram, and runs like a new computer. My question is, it is only showing 3.51 gigs as recognizable, so I lost a half of gig somewhere. I am NOT a computer expert by any means, but can accomplish certain things. Is there an easy way to get

the motherboard to recognize the other half a gig of ram, or should I just leave well enough alone. I do not feel very comfortable messing with BIOS, or Drivers. Thanks, daktsk
