I have been having similar problems with the FireWall on my Dell Laptop which is running WIndows XP

Have downloaded and run the Tdsskiller (found no infections), and Malwarebytes (found 10 infections). and kept the programs and logs on my desktop. I am sorry I did not realize that I should have my own thread about this, since my error message was the

same as the others. I ran the Tdsskiller and the Malwarebytes again today and there were no infections. Prior to this I could not start or run my Microsoft Windows Essential, which I have now uninstalled from my laptop. It would not update and I could

not see my FireWall settings. I would like to continue to resolve my issues so that I can keep my laptop at least until Xp is no longer supported. Could someone be kind enough to tell me what to do next and how to continue with the fixits... thanks so much
