FPCH Admin AWS Posted April 9, 2013 FPCH Admin Posted April 9, 2013 I am trying to update my BIOS in my Windows 7 computer. I went to Dell and successfully downloaded the installer file, but when I try to install it (even with administrative rights), I get a window that says, "The system is different between current system and ROM file." I ran a file compatibility test and found the BIOS file is only supported by Windows XP Service Pack 2, and my computer cannot resolve the incompatibility problem. I have made sure the BIOS file I am downloading is in fact a more current BIOS version that what I have currently in my computer (A07[2009] to A05[2012]). I even tried turning off my virus software and firewall temporarily, in case it was somehow corrupting the download - stranger things have happened - to no avail. Any suggestions?
