I have a Dell Studio 15 Running Win 7 Pro. The drive is a 500GB ATA. Yesterday I received this message, (error 0253 EFI variable block data destroyed.) After running diagnostics, I got another error, 0146. I chatted with a Dell tech and he said my hard

drive was fried! However, the computer, with a couple of exceptions, seems to run normal. I ran Chkdsk/F and found no errors!! The 2 exceptions are F8 will not take me to safe mode and all my restores are missing. Does anyone have any ideas on this puzzle?
