Hi,

I am fairly new to using windows server 2008, but an encountering a peculiar problem.

I have a samsung multifunctional, standalone connected to the network. Windows server has detected it and installed it as default printer. I have also installed the samsung universal scan driver and windows server detects it fine. Furthermore, to get the wia service, I installed the desktop experience feature on windows server 2008.

Now, if I try to import a picture from scanner in paint, it nicely starts the windows scan program and all works perfectly fine.

If I start a different application, a small business app for keeping records and I try to scan, 99 out of 100 times, it use a different, samsung made driver and program which doesn't work. On the odd occasion it does work, it uses the (wia?) windows driver and program and scans just fine.

For some reason, I can't tell windows server to only use wia? Or uninstall the non wia drivers?

Can anyone help me? Especially the 99 times no go, 1 in 100 times work fine bit is just doing my head in...

Regards,

Ramses

Try to uninstall the samsung application, it should remove drivers too.

Then, the scanner, should be detected and installed only via WIA drivers...

I think...
