Having lots of trouble installing updates KB2742597 and KB940157!!!

For KB2742597 I've attempted multiple times to go through the usual update process. Each time it will download but not allow the install. I've restarted and tried to install it again...and same result. I manually tried to install it (yes I installed the

prerequisite as well) and a prompt came up saying: "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable. Click OK to try again or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package 'netfix.msi' in the box below."

...I tried clicking OK to attempt it again and got no effect. I selected both of the options(individually of course) that automatically appeared in the box (one was a temporary file and the other was Microsoft.NET Framework 1.1 (Disk 1)) and neither worked.

I then tried to Browse through the entire disk drive for some component containing the 'netfix.msi' and could not find a thing.

 

For KB940157 I've gone through the same process of trying multiple times with a restart as well and I tried manual update for this too, but this also will not allow me to install it. I realize this is not a High Priority update so perhaps if someone knows

how much of a benefit this update really is or if I can just disregard it, that would be helpful too.
