2 problems that I never had before

Recently (this week) my computer began giving me problems1) an error when I try to install things. The error reads "The version of this file is not compatible with the version of Windows you're currently running. Check your computer's system information to see whether you need an x86 or x64 version of the program,

and contact the publisher.2) certain windows will not show on top of others when i select them from the task bar (and neither are set to always show on top) For example, my internet browser (specifically chrome) will not show on top of any office product, and I cannot switch between

office products (powerpoint to word or the reverse)Possibly relevant info:

Windows 7 Pro 64bit

I recently uninstalled an autodesk program to get an upgraded license

Flight Simulator X (which I know is compatible as I had it installed previously) will not install.
