Can't install updates - error 0x8024402f

[AWS]

I have a newly installed Windows 7 PC and it is no longer searching for updates.

 

It is Windows 7 32-bit, SP1, and Windows Update fails with 0x8024402f

 

I have already tried all of the usual articles for this problem, including the MS Fix-It, turning off AV, Firewalls, etc.
