Problem using Windows Explorer in XP (Home) to explore a Network Place

I can set up a Network Place and obtain a path to the root without any problem. I can also navigate directly to the http address via my web browser (Chrome).

 

When I navigate to the Network Place in Windows Explorer and try to explore the path I get the error message "The current operation cannot be completed because an unexpected error has occurred" The same process on my XP pro laptop works fine.

I think this all depends on WebDAV. Any ideas on how to fix it please? I have already been through Art 287402 without success.

 

 

The main difference between the two XP machines (apart from Home and Pro) is that the Pro machine still has Office97 Pro installed whereas the Home machine has Office 2010 Pro installed. Both machines have Explorer 8 installed although Chrome is used on

both as the browser.
