FPCH Admin AWS Posted March 26, 2013 FPCH Admin Posted March 26, 2013 After I dropped my dell inspiron 1545 laptop I had the hard drive replaced and the tech re-installed Windows 7 from his copy of the software, since my software had been destroyed in a house fire. Now I keep getting a prompt that says that my copy of window is counterfeit. When I went of the internet to attempt to resolve the problem I found out that I apparently need a product key number. The tech who replaced my hard drive said hat I should look at the tag on the bottom of my computer for the product key number. Microsoft help says that this is a 25 character number. I see several numbers on the tag under my computer, including the model and reference numbers and the express service code number, but none of these numbers have 25 characters. I'm lost. Where do I go from here? Am I just s.o.l. because I had to have my hard drive replaced? View this thread Quote Off Topic Forum - Unlike the Rest
