I'm trying to resolve an issue with my wireless speed. I switched from Comcast to Centurylink and I recently have noticed that while my connection to the new DSL modem (Actiontec C1000A) is excellent the speed will drop to 1.0mbps after a certain amount

of time/use of the PC. It initially shows 144mbps of speed after a fresh start/reboot of the desktop. I'm verifying the speed by viewing it from Control Panel&gtNetwork and Internet&gtNetwork and Sharing Center&gtConnections:

What I've done:Removed my not so old (&lt6mos) wireless adapter WMP600N Lynksis and replaced with a D-Link PCIe DWA-548. In both instances (adapters) I had tried removing the old drivers and upgrading them to the current drivers but still have the issue with my connection speed

dropping after some time. I've also tried turning off some of the card features within the adapters properties such as Gaming/Multimedia...The Actiontec DSL Dual band router (C1000A) is new from Centurylink and I have no reason to believe it's malfunctioning. Going into the router configuration everything appears good and shows a connection speed of 40mbps download and 5-6mbps upload. I also ran

a few of the diagnostic utilities within the router and they all pass. The router is approximately 10 feet from the desktop and about 5 feet above the ground.I believe this to be an issue within Windows itself. I've searched a few other forums and it does appear that others a having similar issues with wireless connectivity when using Windows 7 64bit and a wireless PCI/PCIe adapter. Windows itself shows an excellent

connection between the PC and the router when looking at the wireless icon in the lower right taskbar. It's the link speed that drops verified from within the Network and Sharing Center.Much appreciated,JimSystem specs:Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit SP1Core i5 2500k unclockedGigabyte GA-Z68XP-UD3 (BIOS F-10) Chipset drivers are current8GB G-Skill RAMXFX HD Radeon 6870 1GB GDDR 256bit (CCC-13.1)Sound Blaster X-fi Xtreme Gamer (drivers are current)LG Blue Ray Burner1TB Maxtor SATA-2 7200 32mb1TB Hitachi SATA-3 72rpm 32mbAntec 650w PSURosewill Mid Challenger case
