WinXP System Restore cannot complete restoration to an earlier date

My WinXP 32 bit, system restore suddenly cannot perform the usual restoration to an earlier date.

When I perform a system restore to an earlier date, after the windows restart, I got a message system restore cannot complete.

I followed the Answer in your forum dated April 8, 2011

and tried to locate the file “sr.inf” in the “C:windowsinf” folder. How come I could not find the file “sr.inf”? I found “sr.pnf” and “sr” but not “sr.inf” .

Please help me how to solve my system restore issue. Thank you.
