Checking for update is stopped with error code of 80070052

I've been trying to get Windows 8 Pro to update and I keep getting error code 80070052. I've tried doing the clean boot trick with msconfig. I've also let the troubleshooter "repair" some files. It always says it fixed the problem, but when I try again I

get the same error code saying the Windows update is unable to complete with the number 80070052. The last time it checked for an update was on March 5, 2013. There haven't been any installations or system changes within that time period other than a patch

for Norton Antivirus. I've never had trouble with Antivirus before, but I suppose there's a first time for everything. Is anyone else experiencing difficulty like this? My system is not a fresh install it's an upgrade to Win 8 just fyi.
