My Windows 7 HP laptop freezes whenever I try to install certain updates. I've tried using the

FixIt wizard, but the problem still occurs. I can't shut down my computer without it trying to install the updates, which in turn causes it to freeze, in which I have to hard reboot it. From what I can tell, some of the updates that may be causing the

freezes are security updates, but I'm unsure why exactly they would cause my computer to freeze. The updates in question are:

-Security Update for Microsoft .NET Framework 4 on XP, Server 2003, Vista, Windows 7, Server 2008, Server 2008 R2 for x64 (KB2736428)

-Security Update for Microsoft .NET Framework 4 on XP, Server 2003, Vista, Windows 7, Server 2008, Server 2008 R2 for x64 (KB2742595)

-Security Update for Microsoft .NET Framework 4 on XP, Server 2003, Vista, Windows 7, Server 2008, Server 2008 R2 for x64 (KB2789642)

-Security Update for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB2799494)

There are three other updates labeled as "important", along with the security updates. I'm not sure if these could also be causing the freezes. These other updates are:

-Internet Explorer 10 for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems

-Update for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB2791765)

-Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool x64 - March 2013 (KB890830)

Any ideas or help would be majorly appreciated.
