rdege Posted August 31, 2011 Posted August 31, 2011 I use the default snmp service to monitor my Windows servers. Everything has been working correctly until we started using Win2008 R2 servers. For some reason, it appears that the Windows snmp service is reporting incorrect information for all of the attached iSCSI drives. The physical memory, virtual memory, and locally attached drives are still reporting correctly. I tried googling for more information, but this appears to be a rather unpopular problem. However, I have been able to narrow the problem to the server itself. I ran an snmpwalk from the monitoring server, and verified that the Win2008 system is sending wrong data. I have included the snmp data in this post, as well as a screen shot of the drives to show the discrepancies. Does anyone has any ideas, or suggestions? ICTCity Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 mhhhh lovely... perhaps there's something wrong with the service itself... can you test on another server? rdege Posted September 1, 2011 Author Posted September 1, 2011 We currently have four Win2008 servers installed, and two of which are exhibiting the problem, two of which are not. All four are 64bit R2, with no Service Pack installed. I plan on setting up a test server, but I was hoping to get some 3rd party ideas so that I knew what to focus on while setting up the test machine. -Rob Quote
ICTCity Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 That's odd... Perhaps there's an update which has broken up something... I really have no idea... I use SNMP on 2k8 and 2k8 R2 with no problems at all! Quote -------------------------------------------------------- Tu peux aussi crire en franais. Du kannst auch auf Deutsch schreiben.
