It is my sincere hope that I am posting this in the correct forum. Before I ask my technical question, let me ask two things.

1. Why is there no place/way to find out whether Microsoft is working on a problem with one of their products?

2. Given question 1, why is the website so ridiculously difficult to navigate to find the help on my own? I spent over an hour just trying to find out how to ask about Defender problems. It reminds me of getting lost in the vortex of voicemail_hell.

Sorry, to rant, but this company has the resources to make this more customer friendly and it is beyond me why they do not.

Starting on Saturday after a Windows update was installed, Windows Defender scans began failing, complaining that the service was not running. Problem is the service was running. I contacted Microsoft support via chat and tech said they were "aware" of

it, "researching the problem" and "working on it". But when the chat began and I first asked whether they were aware, my question was ignored and I was asked a bunch of questions about my machine and whether I had made any changes.

I just want to know that Microsoft is aware this is happening and is working on it. It had been working fine before the update and unfortunately it was one of the kind of updates that you cannot uninstall.

If anyone is aware of a fix for this, or even if someone at Microsoft is actually working on it, please let me know.

Thanks,

"Very Frustrated"
