Unable to download updates after re-installing OS XP Professional

I. System is 32 bit _x86 SP2 Windows XP Professional

II. Browser IE 8 Vrsion 8.0.6001.18702IC

III. Anti-virus is Security Essentials from Microsoft (free)

IV. I have Windows Firewall

V.Have Wise Registry Cleaner - has not been run

VI.Re-installed OS &amp am trying to get all updates. When trying to get all the downloads an error message displays Error #0x80244019 "The website

has encountered a problem &amp cannot display the page you are trying to view. The options provided below might help you solve the problem.
