Display issue - Vertical colored lines on laptop screen but external monitor display is fine

Hello,

Need urgent help to understand if my Dell laptop video related hardware components are faulty.

My Dell N5010 i3 screen has recently developed vertical colored lines on white background. I bought this laptop 2 year back with Windows 7 home basic installed and it was working perfectly fine.

Recently in Jan 2013 I upgraded it with Windows 8 Pro through Microsoft online upgrade scheme. It worked fine with Windows 8 as well but this problem has started since last 3 weeks. Initially vertical lines were displayed as soon as I switched on the power

and till windows gets loaded. After Windows loading display was getting ok on screen but now vertical lines are always there on monitor screen. I have connected my old CRT monitor with this laptop and display is fine on external monitor.

Dell website has no display driver for Windows 8. I do not think it is related to any hardware issue as laptop display was proper during the setup when I reinstalled windows 8. It even worked for 1 day after reinstallation but now again vertical lines are

on the screen. Please advise the possibilities.
