Posted March 9, 201311 yr FPCH Admin About a week ago a persistent and VERY annoying sound happens every 30 -50 seconds which is getting on my nerves especially as I am studying to start up a new web-based business. I've tried everything to try and figure out the cause but to no avail. There are basically Two types of sound that occur every 15-30 seconds. The first is a "Tang" sound, very quick and there is also a " Pong" sound. Again, only one note and very quick. Now,I have tried EVERY diagnostic test I know of including resetting my laptop to a time before the problem started. I also tried re-installing the sound drivers but nothing has helped at all. The only thing that is new is that because I was having problems with my bookmarks within Google chrome I decided to re-install Explorer, but I cannot remember if the sound problem occurred before or after the IE installation. I cannot see how the installation of a new browser would have such an affect on the sounds though and I don't want to go off on a tangent chasing red herrings, uninstalling IE because It "might be" at fault. Anyhow,if an expert in these matters has had previous problems such as I am currently having and can help me get them sorted out I would be very grateful.
