FPCH Admin AWS Posted March 6, 2013 FPCH Admin Posted March 6, 2013 I had to do a reinstall of windows 7 ultimate the other day. The update process has been extensive.. just finish one set of updates and another pops up. My fresh install, along with my set of programs that I use all the time left me with a boot time of between 26 and 29 seconds. Now, several days later and dozens of windows updates later I'm at 59 seconds with 22 more updates to do after this last reboot. One would think that updates to a program would stream line it, not hinder it's initialization. Is there a list of processes somewhere that are really not needed to boot up the computer? I'm at the point where I'm again ready to revert to windows XP so this constant update and slow down stops.
