iphonogasm Posted August 28, 2011 Posted August 28, 2011 ok im angry, im really really angry lol. i just got a new server, running server 2008 r2 32bit. Intel D865GBF Southbridge Intel 82801EB (ICH5) Chipset i865P/PE/G/i848P ive real numerous posts regarding this and how many people have simply disabled the device in device manager and re-enabled it but and all problems were solved, but this is not the case for me So, all i can find for the manboard are XP drivers, so i installed them and they installed fine. But the "x" still remained at the volume icon in the taskbar, so i thought the drivers were incorrect being XP drivers. So today, i went and purchased a new sound card. Windows 7 compatible. installed it, installed the drivers and still, no audio devices are installed. Ive checked the Windows Audio service and its enabled and automatic, tried disabling and re-enabling the device, no luck. Ive tried windows 7 and windows Vista drivers, no luck and performed a restart after each step. So right now, i have a second PCI sound card installed, but in playback devices im still getting "No audio devices are installed". Is there a feature to enable audio on server 2008 like there is for the wireless LAN? Any help would be greatly appreciated as im not sure where to go from here. Below i have some pictures of exactly what i mean. THNAKS!! Quote
ICTCity Posted August 28, 2011 Posted August 28, 2011 Hi, Windows 7 drivers are not Windows Server 2008 drivers. You must find a compatible audio device.
