Not able to save XPS files just from IE 9.0 after Platform Update KB2670838 - did restore, now OK

I installed the optional Platform Update for Windows 7 KB2670838 and after entering Save information, no file was created. I narrowed it down to both 32-bit and 63-bit IE 9.0 (latest update) since I was able to create the XPS file from Outlook, Word and

Quicken. After not finding anything on Google or Microsoft Support, I did a restore back to pre-update and now I can save the XPS files again from IE. As a novice to Microsoft support, one would think it would be easier to report issues like this to Microsoft.
