Laptop showing eveything portrait instead of landscape

After my laptop recently froze, it elected to unfreeze itself in all I can describe as 'portrait' mode instead of its normal 'landscape' mode. This means that I can only use my laptop at the moment with it stood on its edge. How do I return the computer

to is normal 'landscape mode, so I can start using the laptop normally again?
