Posted February 25, 201311 yr FPCH Admin I installed Windows 8 Pro and Windows Media Center on a new Crucial V4 SSD last November and now find the drive has problems with the disk activity stuck at 100%. It looks like the only remedy is to upgrade the firmware from v22 to v25 which Crucial have just released and appears to solve the problem. The problem with this is that it will wipe the SSD, so I will have to reinstall Windows 8 Pro upgrade (After installing Windows7) and then the Windows Media Center which I think is in Added Services. Can anyone confirm this is what I will have to do:- Load Windows 7 using the Product I have for the Package Start the upgrade wizard and go through the upgrade procedure using the Product Key I received when I purchased the upgrade. Search for Added Features in Settings to add the Media Center clicking on the "Have Product Key" option and entering the product key when requested. I also have subscribed to Windows 365 am I right in thinking if I click on install it will see I still just have 2 installations (My desktop and this laptop that I am reinstalling it on). I am quite nervous in doing the firmware upgrade and just want to make sure I have all the steps I need to go through before I get started. View the full article Off Topic Forum - Unlike the Rest
