wrdavis Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 I installed/configured Core Server 2008 for print services I am managing it via Print Manager from Vista. I have tried exporting/importing printers from a file as well as adding a driver (any driver) individually from the Add Driver wizard - all fail. The errors I am receiving are: "Unable to install [driver name] This Operation is not supported." Then: "Failed to add driver. Operation could not be completed (error 0x00000578)." I can add a TCP/IP printer port manually, just no printer drivers. I am logged in with a user account that has domain admin privileges and UAC is disabled I was able to install a print driver to the Windows 2008 Core print server on an XP machine. Also was able to install a print driver from the Vista machine using Printer Management on a Windows 2003 print server. Not sure where this error is coming I've searched the MS forums/Google with no joy - any help would be appreciated. Quote
FPCH Admin AWS Posted December 22, 2008 FPCH Admin Posted December 22, 2008 The only thing I can think of is UAC causing the problem. Although you have it disabled I'm thinking maybe it really isn't. There was a bug in betas that kept UAC on even when turned off. Have you tried running the management consle with elevated privs? Quote Off Topic Forum - Unlike the Rest
