I moved about eight months ago and I accidentally left my laptop behind, I just recently got it back and there are ~80 updates needing to be installed. When I open Windows Update and click download updates it just sits there with the bar going and says

"0 Kb 0% downloaded" and will never download anything. I've tried it multiple times. I tried Windows Update Troubleshooter and it said it changed something, after that I tried selecting only one update instead of all 80 and it downloaded just fine. so I went

and selected the rest of them and it is still doing the same thing and not downloading anything. I also tried the Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool and every time I run it I get an error saying its not compatible with my system, make sure I've downloaded

the right version... I thought maybe I had some sort of hijackware/malware so I downloaded it on another computer and transferred it to this computer and it still says the same thing, I couldn't ever find a page with download links for different systems. I

also thought maybe it was my AV software blocking it for some reason so I disabled that and tried with no luck. my AV was very outdated when I got my computer back but the first site I went to was to pay for a new year of AV service, and I've always had an

AV since I got thsi computer so I doubt its a virus/Malware problem, but still not ruling it out.

 

I've got a HP laptop running Windows 7 x64 with ESET NOD32 AV
