Posted February 22, 201311 yr FPCH Admin I am trying to install Microsoft Security Essentials on a brand new laptop. Every time I try to run the installer, I get a message saying "Extraction Failed - File is Corrupt". I am running Windows 7 64 bit, and my Windows is fully updated. I have made sure to download the correct file for my operating system, my computer did not come with any antivirus software (or free trials) pre-installed, and I have turned off Windows Defender. I have searched these boards fervently for a solution to my problem, but have not found one. What can I do? Thanks! View this thread Off Topic Forum - Unlike the Rest
