Posted February 13, 201311 yr FPCH Admin I was using Windows Vista Home Basic 32 bit OS in my Dell Inspiron 1501. The OS came preinstalled and Windows Update updated it to SP2. However recently an unknown problem ocurred and my laptop failed to connect to the internet. As no reason was found ,experts advised reinstallation of Windows Vista. I reinstalled Vista by running the DVD of the OS supplied by Dell with my laptop. The laptop started connecting to internet normally. I started receiving an update Windows Vista SP1. I installed it. Installation unexpectedly took only about five minutes and the computer also did not restart several times on its own as expected. At the end of installation Windows Update notified "Update Successful". Update History also shows successful installation of SP1.However I am receiving the same update every day and installing it in exactly the same way with the same result. After installation the Windows version does not show Windows Vista Home Basic SP1 but only Windows Vista Home Basic. What should I do? View this thread Off Topic Forum - Unlike the Rest
