Posted February 14, 201311 yr FPCH Admin OS: Windows 8 Pro x64 Resiliency: Parity 5 Drives (WD 3TB x 3, WD 750GB, WD 500GB) Using 6.67TB of 8.86TB pool capacity Today I arrived home to find that there was an issue with one of the drives in my Storage Spaces pool. The disk displayed the error 'Warning stale, enable pool'. After rebooting the workstation the disk is now displaying the error message 'Warning Disconnected reconnect drive'. The drive is spinning up and appears in the 'Safely Remove Hardware and Eject Media' menu in the taskbar. The LED on the drive is also flashing as though data is being read/written from/to it. Am I able to simply format the drive and add it back to the pool? Will this rebuild the data using the parity from the other drives? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
