I have just moved from Windows XP to Windows 7. There is functionality that I had in XP that I would like to retain.

Here are the details. My preferred view of all folders is "Details". I almost always want that. The exception is that for folders with images and

only for folders with images I frequently want to **temporarily** shift to "thumbnail" for that folder only.

In Windows 7 it seems that I have to stop, go to the control panel, adjust a global setting for **every** folder, change it to "Thumbnail", accept the change, go back to the folder and review, then go back to the control panel and reset that global setting

to return to my preferred view. Temporary reset of view for a folder was easy in XP and now it's really, really clumsy (non-existent as far as I can tell) in Windows 7.

Is there not a better solution that what I have outlined above? Thanks, John
