Hi

 

Recently I participated in a conference arranged by Microsoft. It was about Virtualization aspects on Windows 2008 Server.

 

They distributed Windows 2008 Server CDs which will last for 120 days.

 

I want to install in a new computer.

 

I will make 3 primary partitions.

 

Third primary partition will expand by creating a logical partitions.

 

I want to install Windows 2008 Server. Window Vista and Open Solaris.

 

I want to install above programs on the 3 primary partitions.

 

Open Solaris demands a primary partition.

 

I will create 4 logical partitions to install Ubuntu Linux, Mandriva Linux, Open Suse Linux and Fedora Core Linux.

 

I have two hard drives on the computer. One is 500GB and the other one is 250GB.

Will the above work for me?

 

I will install Windows 2008 Server to learn.

 

I don't have a network as yet.

I will use the GRUB which is preloaded with Linux to select the operating system.

 

I know the way GRUB works.

 

I am new to Windows 2008 Server.

 

I am going to learn Windows 2008 Server.

 

Is it possible to install on a single computer without having a network of computers?

 

It might ask about DNS server, Active Directory etc.

 

I don't know much about Active Directory. I have not been working with Active Directory.
