Posted January 30, 201311 yr FPCH Admin I noticed that Windows Update does not recognize windows updates. It only detects the optional update which is the Bing Bar. I checked the latest updates for Windows 8 in the Download Center then compared it to the ones I have installed in the Installed Updates. I noticed that there are some updates which are not installed. I did the troubleshoot things and said it fixed some errors then tried to find updates again. But still it didn't detect the missing updates. I think it is a hassle installing all of the missing updates manually and I have a hunch there is something wrong with the Windows Update. I tried the sfc /scannow and it did nothing. Also I ran the troubleshooter two times and it said the same thing always Potential Windows Update Database error detected 0x80070490 Fixed Windows Update components must be repaired Fixed But the error still persist.
