Posted January 29, 201311 yr FPCH Admin I recently installed Windows Server 2008 R2 on my home server. Install went fine and I can connect to the internet. I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium on my desktop, and the server does not appear on the network. I can ping it by IP address, but not by name. When I ping it by name, it pings a different IP address. I have my IP address assigned by DHCP. What I'm trying to do is enable remote desktop. View this thread Off Topic Forum - Unlike the Rest
