Posted January 24, 201311 yr FPCH Admin Dell Precision M6500, Covet Intel® Core™ i7-840QM Quad Core 1.87GHz 8MB for M6500 Intel® Core™ i7 Processor 16.0GB, DDR3-1333 SDRAM, 4 ATI FirePro M7820, 10GB DDR5 500GB HD 9.5MM 7200RPM for Mbl Precision MX 400 500GB Additional HD 9.5MM 7200RPM for Mbl Precision MX 400 Win 7 Ultimate Svc Pack 1, 64-bit OS Started with Google Earth not able to connect to server checking for updates. Windows Defender not able to start even when forced. Then to HP not able to update from the HP site for a LJ CM1415fnw, followed with Windows Database error detected 0x8024402C, and64 showing for Architecture, then to total failure connecting to Dell System Update when logged in to account. Additionally, Windows Media Player stopped playing mp4 and host of other file names ending with WMSDKNS.xm corrupt, among other issues. Next step, call Dell Pro Support. No complaints as they all gave this issue valid time and efforts thanking each and every person for assistance. Finally stumbled onto one Pro Support tech with more than the average knowledge and MOST helpful. Two evenings Frank discovered Framework was not fully operational, with a list of 554 steps taken to finally achieve one known issue still, not able to receive Updates from the Dell site for anything. Steps: Drop ALL firewalls, no change. Run Safe Mode, no change. Ran CCleaner, no change. Ran tdsskiller.exe, no change. Ran mbar.exe, no change. Tech Pro Support person Frank ran other checks with no results. Following steps, drag and drop from from new win7 os system tech had with him, to my system. Included, WMSDKNS.xm, some Framework, and the list goes well beyond my skill to explain here. With respect to Framework: Problem Step 114: EDIT for time/space here: Windows Explorer, 6.1.7600.16385 (win7_rtm.090713-1255), Microsoft Corporation, EXPLORER.EXE, EXPLORER.EXE. UN-resolved, still not sure why Architecture reads and64, still not able to have Dells site recognize my system. Please understand I know very little of the above description. My skill set is far less than the few with true understanding to deeper problems, yet on par with just above novice. When or if instructed, results can be achieved. My business is in restoration of sea-going vessels yet enjoy this world of tech, to a respectable point. Helpful too, due to my business and manner in which I service my client base, the excitement comes in wanting to know why, rather than replace parts which is no direct comment towards Dell as all of them performed well beyond the norm offering yet another thanks. At this point, 99.233% of the symptoms to this hidden problem have gone away and now reaching out after 6 weeks of stomach acid.
