Posted January 22, 201311 yr FPCH Admin I have a new Win 8 laptop with a GPT disk. In addition to the EFI and two recovery partitions, there is a large C and a large D partiotion. I would like to shrink one or both of these and make another partition, before or after D. What tools can I use to do this? The current setup is 300 mb EFI, 600 mb recovery, 184 gb C, 250 gb D, and 20 gb recovery partitions. This is a 500 gb drive. I have been told that if I shrink the C and D the recovery partiotions may be damaged and the disk wil be lost. I did a system image with Acronis True Image 2013 (older versions will not handle GPT disks) as well as Windows system and recovery disks but I really don't want to crash the system. any suggestions?
