Original title: Can't Uninstall Java 7.11

I suspect I have a bad Java7.11 (latest version) install because games that require Java do not load using Firefox browser or IE and I get a msg. from the games to update Java.

My browser plug-ins say Java is installed and enabled. My Add/Remove Programs has it listed, but when I try to uninstall the java I get a msg telling me

"the feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable"

Further info says its looking for Installation package jre1.7.0_9-c.msi. I have searched my system and cannot find it anywhere. So how do I get jre1.7.0_11 uninstalled? Also,

Java is not shown in my Control Panel.
