Posted January 20, 201311 yr FPCH Admin I have a Dell Studio laptop running Win7 64-bit on an I3 core that had a HDD failure. I have installed a new HDD and reinstalled to the factory setup using the system recovery disks. All is well except that the Windows Update refuses to run. I get the service not running message. I have tried everything I can find on this forum with no luck. Any more ideas out there? I am starting to suspect a BIOS virus. View this thread Off Topic Forum - Unlike the Rest
