I'm using a variation on the "Classic" theme right now. I find it a bit

cleaner, brighter and no-nosense.

I've heard the story, that the Aero implementation was done 'wrong'

because MS wanted to eliminate some low-level pipeline, or something to

that effect, into the graphics card.

Funny Saucy, in the full Windows Shell replacement I have been working

on, in VBc, I added a feature to show all non-active windows translucent

behind the active, fully opaque window. What MS programmers would want

you to believe that this is difficult, is on fact not. In VBc, it's about

30 lines of code....2 API calls (1 line each), and the other 28 lines are

used to keep track of translucent windows. The 28 other lines aren't even

necessary, but used to keep track of windows that are already translucent

so I don't waste time making them translucent again.

So I added the feature, used it for about 10 minutes, then turned it off.

3D flip would be a bit more complicated, but, not hard to do in VBc

either, which I would probably try out for debugging purposes and then

turn off.

I don't want to get into DirectX spinning cubes though, because, to me,

useless.

Actually, you can and there are just more than one way to do things.

On this very newsgroup you admitted you couldn't install Ubuntu. I had a

couple come into my office today on another business matter (not

computers) and I showed them Ubuntu 7.04. I burned them a CD and they

were very happy. So, you LIE again!

Yep, sadly Frank is a classic village idiot. One of thousands that

infest newsgroups of all kinds. They have no lives other than acting

up online in some feeble attempt to get attention they can't get any

other way. Rather sad life when you think about it.

I guess in Frank's excuse for a mind he actually thinks he's helping

Microsoft image with his constant ranting and raving. Damn, if that

doesn't prove Frank is short a few cards of a full deck and nothing

but a delusional old fool, nothing does. -)

Using your "standards" that makes you a fukkin Microsoft loser troll.

The irony is of course you are way too stupid to see past the end of

your nose since obviously what you do is no different accept Alias can

present reasoned argument to support trying Linux, while all you are

capable of doing is daily screaming, ranting and calling everybody a

liar and troll over and over. Get the help you desperately need Frank,

you're a mental case and in desperate need of professional help.

Doesn't matter what the subject is or how it's presented, some people just

really can't handle when someone says they are wrong about something. They

can't cone up with any intelligent discussion to defend their position, so

they start screaming druck, liar, loser, etc.

<You don't know what a fact is. The only fact is you're a Linux *pusher*

pan handling your product. How low can you go is the question? If you

were doing this in a neutral NG, that would be one thing. But you're not

doing that, and you are totally out of line in this one. But your head

is 20 bricks hard and it doesn't register. No one can tell you what to

do, so ditto here too.>
