The only way in your feeble mind to win an argument is to use a

fallacy or try to build a strawman. You should feel right at home in

this backwater newsgroup. Lots of bozos do the same thing every day in

nearly every thread. I deal in FACTS. Deal with it.

No, you don't. I did a search of your posts. You deal in insult. You post

almost nothing but insults. Helpful content is near zero. You may be a bit

handy with your desktop, and know a little about media viewing software, but

your contribution here amounts near nada despite the huge number of posts.

You think you know a lot, and you are, no doubt, a wit legend in your own

mind, but in terms of actual substance your posts amount to near zero. Check

it out yourself. Use the Find button and type Adam Albright into the From.

It's almost amazing how much time you spend yet how little besides insult

you actually contribute.

This is, of course, due to MS spreading FUD about Linux only being for

geeks, FUD that even you believe. The general public can be fooled only

so long and when they actually get to see and use Ubuntu, they realize

that they've been FUDed. I see it happen every time I install Ubuntu for

someone.

Well, the general public has not been fooled (except for a few fanatics,

like you) about linux. They don't care about it, don't want it and don't

want to hear about it.

The fanatical linux zealots have been trying for at least 15 yrs now to

give away something most people simple don't want and don't give a sh*t

about.

I know you think linux is some kind of a "cause" to be championed and

you hate MS and the truth really hurts, especially for weak fanatical

people like you, but honestly, enough is enough of your pretending and

lying about liunx.

Especially in this ng where you are not needed nor wanted.

Got it?

This 'fallacy and strawman" is the courtroom tactic those blood sucking

attorneys you once worked for (and they fired you!) taught you and you

always try and use here (without success I might add) then accuse others

of doing the same thing.

You're weak...you're a loser...you have no FACTS at all...and you're a

Deal with it as*hole!

miserable years ahead of you.

If it were **FREE** and **GOOD** you would not need marketing. Word of mouth

would suffice.

Seeing as where Linux is now, it meets 50% of the above criteria. But things

have a habit of changing, don't they?

Knowing that I'll be misunderstood, I'll state my opinion anyway :-) Unix

is actually a very good operating system. What's on my laptop? Windows

Vista, which I love. Would I use Windows for a server, probably not. Would

I use it for a client O/S definitely. Unix is lean and mean, but dull and

boring. Perfect for a server application where in most cases a keyboard and

monitor are rarely even hooked up let alone a mouse. Linux was always a

cheap rip-off of Unix in my opinion, but that of course is my opinion. I'm

a FreeBSD Unix man from way back and old habits die hard. Having said that

I will now take my refuge behind my tiny laptop screen for the inevitable

flames that are due to come my way :-)

Just because you can't install Ubuntu doesn't mean everyone can't. Just

because you feel some kind of need to brag about paying for Vista

doesn't mean everyone has that need. Some people are open to new and

Frank, if you start cussing that Linux panty dropping *ho* out, she'll

leave you alone. Tell that *ho* to find a new pair of panties, because

the panties the *ho* has on are getting kind of ripe and she stinks.

Let me ask you this Frank. Do you think a man would be into to all this

that this *ho* does and she is into *trolling* too? The *ho's* mission

is to inform the world about Linux and to troll?

How sad is that? How sad is it that someone start mentally tripping like

that. It's kind of sick.

Maybe, if the *ho* went to a Mary-K or Martha Steward seminar on how to

sale Linux or put a Tupperware party together for her worthless a**

fiends and family that won't listen to the *ho* either about Linux,

which has the *ho* out here on the Internet trying to make sales, then

maybe just maybe the *ho* can get some sales.

The *ho* will then have enough stamps from the *ho's* Linux distributor,

the *ho* can fill-up the *ho's* Linux green books, cash them in so

that the *ho* can get its toaster oven and vacuum cleaner running Linux

the *ho* has been dreaming about for *years*, and the *ho* can move on

with the its worthless life and household duties.

No, not dull and boring. Useless in the grand scheme of things. Aero and

Beryl.

Neither helps with using your PC to do things that need to be done.

Pretty to look at......for 5 minutes......yeah, that's neat, then turn it

Actually, the cube is handy if you want four desktops with a maximized

program open on each. Or, if you have a dozen windows open on one

desktop, moving the cursor to the upper right hand corner of the screen

to see all your windows in miniature so you switch to another one is

handy too.

'Course, if you want it dull and gray, stay with W2K or 98.

And the same thing can be done for Windows (DirectX), only no one's bothered

[at least outside of a programming lab] - probably for the reason you

mentioned: doesn't help with using your PC to do things that need to be

done.

Frank's only reply to *anything* is an insult. He doesn't know any

better and doesn't realize how it makes him look like a total fool.

Actually, the cube is handy if you want four desktops with a maximized

program open on each. Or, if you have a dozen windows open on one

desktop, moving the cursor to the upper right hand corner of the screen

to see all your windows in miniature so you switch to another one is

handy too.

'Course, if you want it dull and gray, stay with the boring "classic"

theme.

Why would this be handy ? It's not like you can have all four maximized

programs on the screen at one time.

Or just Alt-Tab thru the list....not hard.

Wanting or not wanting dull & gray has nothing to do window effects of

Beryl or Aero.
