I run WHS with 4 hot swappable harddrives. One of them obviously runs the WHS OS (the old one, not Vail). Seemingly at random, WHS tries to startup from the wrong harddrive.

Usually when I power on, I see the usual &quotDOS&quot screens where WHS tries to detect the harddrives. Usually the leds on all 4 disks blink one after another, and then I see the graphical startup screens of Windows. All goes well in that case. Every now and then

however, after the 3rd drive led blinked, it keeps lightened up, showing that WHS tries to find the OS on this drive. Screen remains black, no matter how long I wait.

When this happens, it happens every next time I startup. After a longer period, chances are everything is fine again. Or (don't laugh) when I give the machine a whack on its case.

Any help would be appreciated.

However, since I am not too much into master/slave, nor am I a boot guru, chances are you are best telling me to find an expert to repair this. Unless the solution is simple, Your suggestions would at least help me however to lead these experts in the right

directions!
