RossMLindsay Posted July 29, 2011 Posted July 29, 2011 Hi All! Is it possible with Server 08 R2 to have a user account that is temporary - as in only valid for one login then cleared of everything? Specifically, the account gets wiped of everything on logoff (i.e. all files deleted, internet history cleared, etc - essentially a new profile upon logon)? Is it also possible to retain default browser/other application settings persistently? It would be annoying for users to, for example, have to type in a name when they open Office for the first time, or have IE, Firefox, and Chrome ask them if they want to set them to default, IE8's "Welcome" setup wizard, etc. Thanks! ICTCity Posted July 29, 2011 Posted July 29, 2011 Hi, The best thing you can do is to implement MANDATORY PROFILES, these profiles can be modified but once you logoff they're reverted to original state (background and so on). Another way is to use the GUEST account, but I think is not really what you want. Take a look here, it could be interesting: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/forums/en-US/winservergen/thread/2e3d27cf-38ec-433d-8bee-2a69a73871a5 Quote -------------------------------------------------------- Tu peux aussi crire en franais.
