unable to install driver update for canon printer

HI,

At each reboot (or so it seems) I am presented with an optional update entitled:

 

Canon - Printers - Canon MX350 series FAX

Download size: 18.3 MB

You may need to restart your computer for this update to take effect.

Update type: Optional

Canon Printers software update released in April, 2012'

 

This has been appearing only in recent weeks, and I have had the printer for longer than 12 months (reference to date of update).

It has downloaded, and installs on agreement (or so it seems), yet a subsequent reboot shows it has not, as it is listed again as an optional update.

 

Canon has previously recommended uninstalling all printer drivers for this printer and then reinstalling including this for similar issues...a very long process.

Is there a direct link (?) I can access to update? Assuming this may solve the issue.

 

Looking forward to any advise or request for clarification.
