Posted November 24, 201212 yr FPCH Admin I'm running Windows 8 with Windows Defender as the primary anti-virus program. I've been using it and updating it since launch without problems. Recently I got a popup saying I need to update my Defender. Whenever I click on update it loads for a bit and then says the update failed and that I need to check my network or internet connections. Error code: 0x80240022 Description mentions that Defender couldn't download definition updates. Might be caused by missing system file or an incorrect setting or a problem with the registry file. I haven't touched any of the settings on Defender since I upgraded from Windows 7 to 8. View this thread Off Topic Forum - Unlike the Rest
