Posted November 24, 201212 yr FPCH Admin Hello, A few weeks ago MSE picked up Exploit: java /CVE- 2010-0094.BL Exploit: java/CVE-2010-084.AJ Trojan:Java/MESDE. Upon researching the virus found that best idea was to delete Java from my system which I have done. Last night upon completing a full scan of my computer MSE again picked up Java/CVE-2011-3544.NF. Then ran Microsoft Safety Scanner to ensure that it was gone. Did more research and it seems that this strain of virus can also be picked up just by visiting a site and not clicking on a link. Big clue that something was wrong yesterday was the blacking out of web pages when mouse scrolling. Scroll up and page view would return. Questions: -- Is it possible that this virus is not being completely removed from my system and is hiding a small packet in my memory as is suggested by some in the numerous articles about this virus. If so, outside of doing a reinstall, is there a way to detect pieces of stowaways such as this? -- And, besides keeping my temp files cleaned and deleting history when I close my browser, what else can I do? What kind of damage is this virus doing to my computer? Can it spread to my back-up drive and thumb-drives? Thank you! View this thread Off Topic Forum - Unlike the Rest
