I am running Vista Home Premium. I recently asked about Widows Defender and Services to improve the computer's performance. I received a satisfactory answer but decided to "go it alone" and have a look at the System Configuration because my computer (laptop)

always sounds very business and is prone to slowing right down when I go on line. I tried disabling some of start up and services which went ok initially but I think I got too carried away and things started going wrong such as being unable to connect with

the internet so I had to do a system restore. Where I live doesn't have a strong signal for wireless broadband which is not very helpful but that's why I'm trying to optimise my computer to make the most of what I've got. Which brings me to the question whether

I should install the Optimiser, I'm a little wary about downloading such things but need some advice on which services I could disable to give a little more performance strength. I get very confused about on that matter, don't understand the terminology. Can

somebody help please?
